Transform this: "Responsible for network security monitoring"

Into this: "Detected and mitigated 47 security incidents in FY24, reducing average response time by 60% through implementation of automated threat detection"

Navigating Classification Constraints

One challenge unique to cleared professionals: describing your work without compromising classified information. Focus on:

• Publicly acknowledged programs and agencies
• General capabilities and skill sets without specific details
• Quantified impact where possible (percentage improvements, cost savings)
• Transferable skills that apply across domains

The Summary Statement

Open with a brief, impactful summary—3-4 sentences that highlight your clearance, years of experience, key technical skills, and what makes you valuable. This is your 10-second pitch to keep the hiring manager reading.
